There are very few opening credit sequences as effective as this one.

very nice aesthetic for the movie, not to mention the 9/11 reference which is even now a little edgy, but probably unavoidable given the nature of the film.

i couldn't help but notice a similarity between the kingdom opening titles and this viral video, i wonder if it influenced the designers:

Exactly, the tone of the excellent title sequence makes one expect a 'Syriana'-style political thriller. There is some of this in the film but just on the surface. Interesting movie, in its' own genre, anyway.

i kinda dug this title sequence, but it prepared me for a different film. i thought The Kingdom was pretty typical Berg with his harsh, sexy, saturated style. i guess i felt the fact-based title sequence didn't bond to the action movie content very well.
  • Love this sequence. Reminds me a lot of the motion graphics sequences used in recent Call of Duty games.

I caught this film last night for the first time, but missed the start (sacrilege) have to agree though, great title sequence. I enjoyed it anyhow. (Edited to remove spoiler material - Ian)

Totally agree with the above comments. A brilliant factual history lesson of the Middle East in 3 minutes (or so). A clever mix of media and editing and transition from one scene to the next. I've watched it several times to remind myself of the the recent history of the Middle East.

Yeah! I agree one of the best title ever. Great movie!
  • One of the best ever.
