James Ransom is a director of photography and a multimedia artist currently part of Oily Film Company.

He studied fine arts at the University of Ottawa. He has shot three feature films and a large array of music videos, shorts, and installation pieces. At the moment, he is working on a series of stop-motion animated shorts using Polaroids and hundreds of rubber frogs in his parents’ basement.
