Fantastic! Captures the quirky, pomo-meets-romantic-samurai spirit of the series perfectly. The aesthetic fusion of modern hip-hop and samurai-era culture is fascinating. If you enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, you’ll love this. (Same director, Shinichiro Watanabe.)

Yes, and who knew that hip-hop and traditional Japanese art styles could mesh so well? I always loved the the warm, LP sound of the music, too. You know it’s intentionally been filtered to sound that way when you get to the end of the visuals.

    Great intro!

It is a matter of rythm, isn’t it? I really like the way they take the fighting scenes as dance, mixing it with hip hop spirit, every movement, every change of scene falls perfectly into place, creating this awesome smoothness… the thick lines which remind the street art, and its fluency… the series quality itself is amazing! Really loved this one, S Watanabe is such a genius!.

I love the clean quite softness I feel from watching the intro, the sublte camera pans make me love animation. I always bump my head along to the beat. The paintings that go along with the characters attitude is fantastic. Same as the mood coloring. The lyrics are out of sight (I’ve looked them up.)
